1. (US gambling) a gambling chip, esp. one given to a dealer as a gratuity; thus as v., to tip a dealer.

(n) Tip, often given by a player in exchange for having been dealt a winning hand. ‘Did you get a toke for dealing him that big winner?’ No one knows the derivation of this word, but it may come from token (that is, of appreciation). 2. 2. (US) a tip given to a cab-driver for bringing clients to a gambling establishment, brothel etc.
