1. (US campus) a weak, ineffectual person.

1975		G. Underwood ‘Razorback Sl.’ in AS L:1/2 59: frip n Person considered dull, foolish or stupid.
1986		Eble Campus Sl. Mar. 4: friphead – person with little intellectual capacity or ability to pay attention.

2. (N.Z. prison) a slap rather than a punch with the clenched fist; the implication is that the victim isn’t ‘man enough’ to deliver a proper blow.
