double-clutch v.

[trucker jargon double-clutch, to change gears by changing first to neutral, then selecting the desired, usu. lower, gear. The clutch is disengaged at each stage; visual resemblance, or, with sense 2, the idea of doing something twice]

1. (US) to have sexual intercourse.

2. (US drugs) to take more than one’s share of a communally smoked marijuana cigarette. US smokers ritually take only one puff before passing on their cigarette.
