[Aus]Bulletin (Sydney) 14 Mar. 12/3: It was noticed at the meeting of the committee of the Patriotic Fund that Frank was conspicuous by reason of his eloquent silence. The key to this is that another ‘conscientious journalist’ offered to insert the Patriotic Funds ads. for ‘chiceamacoola.’ We can just imagine the electric howl which would have emanated from Alfred ‘over the sea,’ if a like minded concession had been promised by Frank.
