droog n.

[coined by Anthony Burgess for A Clockwork Orange (1962); ult. Rus. drug, friend]

1. a thug, a gangster.

2. (US campus/teen) a good friend.

3. a dull person.

4. (also droogie) a young man, esp. working class.
