(US) a vehicle that has been over-augmented with loud, pointless accessories, an ostentatious paint job, etc; also v., adj; see also compounds below [supposedly from acro. race-inspired cosmetic enhancements, and thus a racist stereotype but more likely the equation of rice as a staple of the Asian diet].

Google groups: aus.cars 11 Oct. 🌐 The term [sc. ricer] was originally ‘Rice Rocket’ or ‘Rice Racer’ (i think) used by bike guys to describe fast asian bikes (not the riders). The term ‘Rice Boys’ is now used to describe people who buy Asian cars (usually base models) who then try to make them look fast by putting big stickers, wings, wheels, lights, body kits on them.
